Action at last

Finally there is a plan of action to eliminate my cancer. I will undergo surgery on Monday, June 23, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. After all the waiting for results from each test, and having two different plans cancelled, it appears that the origin has been determined, and a consensus reached on the right approach.

We will get details from Dr. John Lurain at our appointment on Friday, but generally I know that I will have a complete hysterectomy, tumor removal, and colon resection. I don't yet know any specifics on follow up chemo, but there will be some.

So my month of just waiting to get on with treatment is over which is very good. But up until now I have felt fine except for being tired, and now I expect I'll have some pretty painful days ahead. Needless to say I think it will be worth the hurt.

Thank you all for thinking about me and keeping me in your prayers. So far I've been promised prayers - Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish - hopeful thoughts, positive energy, and to top it off, qi(chi) from the energy field of Chinese monks. How can I miss?

I'm happy to receive cards, notes, emails, calls and comments to the blog.

Margaret, We're glad that there is a plan of action and that it begins soon. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Both Jill & I think this blog is a great way to keep everyone updated.

For a girl who needs a plan this has been a real challenge. I am so glad things are now set. You are on my mother's rosary list which is the best prayers I can think of.
Of course all positive energy is going your way.
